Q. Why is the course given so close to the exam
dates? The course is scheduled so that the techniques taught
are fresh in your mind while taking the exam. In addition, since
many CDC students come from out of state, the proximity of the
course to test dates makes it easier for students to take the class.
Additional tutoring before the course is available upon request with
Dr. Gilbert.
Q. Can I purchase the study materials for
Endo or Removable? No. Our test questions and study guides
are only available during the course.
Q. Can I receive
help in patient selection? Yes. We will help you evaluate
radiographs and patient study models for appropriate and best-case
scenarios. Good patient selection is critical to your
success.
Q. What do you mean by hands-on
practice? Hands-on practice of composites and amalgams will
be on your typodont teeth, a 4-hole adapter and foot pedal will
supply air for your hand piece. Each preparation will be evaluated
individually by you and an instructor. This helps correct errors and
prepares you to score high on the exam.
Q. What kind of
typodont should I use? CDC suggests that you call the school
where you are sitting for the exam and get the exact company and
model number typodont that they recommend. Make sure you bring
plenty of extra teeth that fit your typodont. You will use them! We
do not recommend using extracted teeth.
Q. What do you
mean by Removable Prosthodontics self study? Working together
with our alumni from past exams, we have developed a review book
specifically for this test. The book is a valuable resource designed
to be used by you throughout the course. It is also a compliment to
the study guide you will receive in your registration
packet.
Q. How will you prepare me for the Endodontic and
Periodontic written exams? They will be covered by detailed
sample test questions for you to study during the week of the
course.
Q. What will be covered on the California
Law/Ethics Review? You will receive a study guide along with
over one hundred old test questions that will fully outline
what you need to know regarding the California Dental Practice Act
and Code of Ethics Exam. This
review is also available as a stand alone course for $
195.
Q. What if I want to take the course months before my
exam date? Many people elect to take the course a few months
before their exam date. You can repeat the course at half-price if
you wish to take the class again just before your exam. CDC courses
are usually given the week before the state board exam. Check our schedule for upcoming
dates.
